Your say on local waste and recycling sites

Following the success of the new improved waste and recycling collection services in Wiltshire, some of the other recycling facilities are being used less and we are able to save more than £250,000 by making a number of changes to these services.

During recent summers household recycling centres have been open until 7pm on selected evenings. As all residents can now have a new kerbside service to collect garden waste at no extra charge it is proposed that household recycling centres will go back to normal summer opening every day, until 5pm. (This change will affect all sites except Salisbury).

Everyone in Wiltshire can now recycle a wide range of materials from home, therefore the use of local mini recycling sites has significantly reduced. It is proposed some local mini recycling sites are removed, while keeping a good network to use in addition to kerbside collections.
